Assistant Principal, Josalyn Moskowitz

I have wanted to be an educator from early on when I would play school with my sisters and brother. My mom was a teacher, and I often helped in her classroom and would watch her with her students; my dadMoskowitz_sm started his career as a teacher but eventually changed careers. I guess you could say that being an educator was in my blood. I attended Elizabethtown College majoring in Elementary Education with a minor in Special Education. I started my teaching career with Frederick County Public Schools, teaching first grade. While there, I received my Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Hood College. I came to Washington County Public Schools in 2007 where I taught fifth grade, was a Student Achievement Specialist and most recently an Assistant Principal.

I am married with two children. My daughter Reese is 7 and my son Cooper is 4. My husband is Vice President of Sales at Innovative Inc. We live in Williamsport along with our dog, Macy. Family is very important to me and we spend lots of time together traveling and visiting relatives.

I love children and watching them learn and grow is exhilarating! My goal is to be the most innovative administrator I can, by creating a learning environment where students can strive to become college and career ready for the 21st century.  I am very excited to be part of Boonsboro Elementary and to collaborate with all of the students, families, staff and community members. Learning with and from all of you has been and will continue to be a wonderful experience. I look forward to the coming school year, and being an integral part of the students’ growth as a person and learner!
